Marvin Harry Valega, a native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Prairieville, passed away into the loving arms of Jesus Christ at his home at 7:15 pm on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the age of 78. He was retired from Rubicon Chemical after 23 years and was founder, owner and operator of Diversion Water Co., LLC for 22 years. Marvin was always on the go; he was always working and tinkering with something. Marvin Harry Valega, a native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Prairieville, passed away into the loving arms of Jesus Christ at his home at 7:15 pm on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the age of 78. He was retired from Rubicon Chemical after 23 years and was founder, owner and operator of Diversion Water Co., LLC for 22 years. Marvin was always on the go; he was always working and tinkering with something. In Marvin's final years, he enjoyed reading his bible daily and watching sermons on television, when he could no longer physically attend church. He also greatly enjoyed visits from his kids and grandkids. He was preceded by his parents Harry Joseph Valega and Mildred Lee Ulmer Valega Bordelon and his daughter Ginger Marie Valega. Marvin was survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Patricia Ann Talley Valega; his five children; Bridgette Ann Valega Arvel, David Roy Valega, wife Jonette, Lari Ann Valega Seguin, husband Richard, Heavenly Hope Valega Koenig, husband Michael, Parrish Chance Valega, wife Kristie; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation, which will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Greenoaks Funeral Home, from 11 am until the Homecoming celebration begins at 2 pm. Burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park
