Raleigh Lee Cox, 73 years old, passed away peacefully at his home in Baton Rouge on Saturday, June 10, 2017. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. Raleigh was born on Oct 17, 1943. He graduated from Istrouma High School where he lettered in Track. He graduated from LSU in 1965 at the age of 21. He had a long and successful career as an Electrical Engineer, first at Beard Engineering and then opened his own company, Cox Engineering. His work was not just a job, it was his passion.

Raleigh Lee Cox, 73 years old, passed away peacefully at his home in Baton Rouge on Saturday, June 10, 2017. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. Raleigh was born on Oct 17, 1943. He graduated from Istrouma High School where he lettered in Track. He graduated from LSU in 1965 at the age of 21. He had a long and successful career as an Electrical Engineer, first at Beard Engineering and then opened his own company, Cox Engineering. His work was not just a job, it was his passion.
Raleigh is survived by his wife of 31 years, Sandra Lynn Cox. Raleigh and Sandi could be found on weekends watching their beloved LSU Tigers play baseball and sharing their love of the theatre.

Survived by his three children, Catherine Cox, Chris Cox and his wife Alice, and Kendra Pearson. His six grandchildren, Mackenzie Smith, Mallory Smith, Drake Smith, Savanna Cox, Cameron Pearson and Elise Cox. His Sister Pam Cox Causey and her husband Carl, His Nephew Ryan Causey and his wife Maggie and Niece Mandy Causey Rausch. His best friend Oscar Boudreaux and Mike Catanzaro. And also Travis LeJeune, Office MVP and good friend.

Preceded in death by parents Raleigh Edwin Cox and Mildred Jarreau Cox. Grandparents Wilfred Jarreau and Birdie Hull Jarreau and DW and Leona Cox. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Childrens' Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Pallbearers will be Drake Smith, Ryan Causey, Oscar Boudreaux, Tom Carville, Mike Catanzaro and Travis LeJeune. Family members would like to thank St. Joseph's Hospice and extend heartfelt thanks to Brenda Clements and Renishaj Collier for the love and care they gave to Raleigh. Raleigh will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on 9595 Florida Blvd, Tuesday June 13, 2017 from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Goodwood Blvd., Wednesday, June 14th at 10:00 a.m.
